Jabulani Recordings

Since 2005 Tony Barr has been working on a series of exciting recordiings of his work.

From Manuscript To Digital Audio . . .

There are over 750 liturgical compositions in the Jabulani Music catalog, but until recently most of them have never been available in a recorded format. In 2005 work commenced on Tony's first independent recording, 'You Are For Me'. Produced by Marcy Weckler and Feargal King, it well and truly gave Tony the recording bug! No sooner than it was released in late 2006, Tony began the ambitious process of recording two further albums simultaneously, both released in 2009. 'Light Eternal' was recorded in two different states (Illinois and Minnesota), including guest performances from Michael Joncas, David Haas and British composer Bill Tamblyn. The music in Light Eternal ranges from popular styles to 'high church' organ/choral repertoire, to forms influenced by the ceremonial music of the Lakota Plains peoples.
